Welcome, and thank you for visiting my Web site. I’m John McCulloch, your Oakland County Drain Commissioner.
I’d like to tell you a little about myself and the office that serves you, the citizens of Oakland County.
Since my election to this position more than six years ago, I’ve transformed the office from a good organization to a great one. I oversee a staff of more than 260 men and women who are dedicated to serve you. A recent reorganization, coupled with the institution of ISO 9000 and 14000 procedures, ensures that you receive the highest quality service.
I understand that many of you are unfamiliar with the duties and responsibilities of a drain commissioner. There are so many demands on our time, that we pay little attention to those things that are running smoothly and don’t require your constant attention. As long as you receive clean, fresh water from your taps and wastewater leaves your homes quickly and efficiently, you don’t need to spend time thinking about the effort that makes that possible.
Usually, it is only when there’s a problem that our attention turns to my office. I’m thankful that, though the efforts of my staff and I, that your attention has not be diverted from the demands of your daily lives.
Today, you don’t need to spend time worrying about whether your water will be there when you turn on the tap. Today, you can be assured that I will continue to fight for the most fair and equitable water and sewer rates. But, it is an uphill battle. I have led that fight and today we are seeing progress.
I will continue that battle, but I need your help. I am asking for your time in hopes that you can volunteer to help my re-election campaign. I’m also asking for your financial support to help me get the important message to the voters of Oakland County.
To volunteer and/or contribute, either click on the corresponding link in this sentence or within the menu on the left of any page.
I hope you take a few minutes to look at some of the offerings I’ve provided on this Web site. I think it will give you a better idea of the inner workings of my office and give you a greater appreciation of how we serve you.
I’ve also included a brief biography to let you know about my background. I am confident I have the qualifications to continue to serve you with dedication and resolve. I also invite you to submit any questions you might have about me or the drain office. I lead a service organization. My staff and I are continuing looking for ways to serve you better.
